Breville brings toasters back to TV with a $1 million media campaign

By Martin Vedris

SYDNEY: Breville is planning an advertising and promotional blitz on television, print, online and ambient media. The company’s Professional 800 Collection toasters, Dual Disc juicer and ikon Wizz food processor will be features of the coordinated campaign.

“It’s been a long time since I saw a toaster advertised,” said Breville brand director, David Gubbin.

“However our recent research has shown that Australians are becoming exasperated with one of the most simple morning routines — cooking the perfect piece of toast.”

In the advertisement for the Professional 800 Collection Toaster, the theme is that the products’ features help people get the perfect toast every time.

In a second TVC, the Professional 800 Collection Dual Disc Juice Processor demonstrates how the puree disc can now puree soft fruits like bananas, mangoes and strawberries to make what Breville has trademarked a ‘Froojie’ which is a 100 per cent fruit juice smoothie.

“As market leaders in the juicing category we believe that this ad will invigorate the category and take juicing to the next level,” concludes Gubbin.

The ads aired for the first time on 16 November and Brevill said they will remain on-air throughout the Christmas sales period during high-rating programs such as Packed to the Rafters and 60 Minutes, and lifestyle shows such as Sunrise and Better Homes & Gardens.
