After 17 years at the company, Canon stalwart James Fewtrell has announced his resignation from the photography services icon. Today, 24 October, is his final day in the Canon firing line.
Fewtrell has spent the last 15 years as the assistant general manager of corporate communications – an incredible length of service considering the staff turnover rates in this industry.
“It has been an honour to work for Canon and to be a part of the huge growth and success that the Corporate Communications team has experienced,” said Fewtrell. “A highlight throughout my time was helping to exponentially grow Canon Australia’s internet and intranet, now an integral part of how we do business.”
“Re-establishing the Canon brand Advanced Simplicity was another highlight for me, as was introducing a corporate culture, vision and mission that are now practiced everyday throughout the company.”
“It is an honour to have worked for such a highly-respected company and I’m so proud of Canon, its products, services, culture and people. After my extensive length of tenure, I look forward to exploring new opportunities, but it is with sadness that I leave a company that I have such tremendous respect and pride for.”
Talking about Fewtrell’s service to Canon was managing director for Oceania, Kenji Kobayashi.
“Throughout James’ time at Canon Australia, the growth and evolution of Canon Australia as a brand has been truly significant,” said Kobayashi. “I want to take this opportunity to thank James for his contribution to Canon Australia and wish him the very best for the future.”
