Samsung Electronics has confirmed it will continue its sponsorship of the Sydney Roosters rugby league team. Next season will mark the 10 year anniversary of this long-running association.

Talking about this decision is Samsung Australia director of marketing Kurt Jovais.

“We estimate that Samsung received more than $2.75 million of brand exposure last season through our partnership with the Sydney Roosters,” said Jovais. “Our passion for sport is reflected in the hearts of Australians and as such, sport will continue to be a key part of Samsung’s sponsorship portfolio.

“We remain proud to have an association with a team that has the same high standards for quality and performance that our brand has, and look forward to continued joint success in the future.”

Over the nine complete seasons Samsung has sponsored the Roosters, the Bondi-based club has finished premiers once, runners-up thrice, fourth, sixth, ninth, tenth and fourteenth. Over those nine years, only one team has won multiple premierships, meaning the Roosters are arguably the most successful team of this decade.

This decision means the Roosters remain in the Samsung sponsorship stable, alongside Chelsea FC, Essendon Football Club, Melbourne Victory and the NSW Waratahs.
