Awards for Panasonic and WA refrigeration specialist

By Patrick Avenell

Panasonic has won an EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) Award for its Lumix DMC-TZ15 digital still camera. The award recognises this model as the best compact camera for 2008-09.

In awarding Panasonic this honour, EISA released the following statement:

“The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ15 has an extensive zoom range extending from very wide to telephoto angles of view. The 10x Leica DC 28-280mm (equivalent) lens provides focal lengths to suit almost every style and subject, in a single very useful unit. The camera’s compact size, slim profile and high 9-million-pixel image quality make it an ideal travel camera, as well as one you will always want to carry with you every day.”

Talking about the camera, and the award it has received, is Panasonic category marketing manager, mobile AV, Alistair Robins.

“The TZ ‘Traveller’s zoom’ range has been highly awarded, with the TZ-15’s predecessor, the TZ3, also receiving an EISA award last year.  The TZ15 incorporates Panasonic’s ‘Intelligent Auto’ (iA) mode which activates simultaneous automatic features for mistake-free photography and is fully equipped for shooting on that overseas trip or weekend away,” said Robins.

The Lumix DMC-TZ15 is available now for RRP $659.

In local awards news, TraxOn Industries Pty Ltd, a Bunbury-based refrigeration equipment provider, has won the MYOB Small Business Award, for businesses with 6 to 20 employees, at the 2008 Telstra Western Australia Business Awards.

TraxOn beat out Turner Engineering WA, an air-conditioning wholesaler, to win this award. Also vanquished were an IT provider, a telecommunications provider and an audiology specialist.
