Sony PS3 giveaway begins

SYDNEY: Sony’s much-hyped repeat of its PS3 giveaway campaign has kicked off officially today, with the counter on Sony’s website already down 300 units by 1.10 pm.

The promotion, details of which were reported last week on Current.com.au, has caused a stir in the CE world, with rival Samsung counter-punching today with their own free Foxtel HD+ set top box or BD1500 Blu-ray player promotion.

A live counter is available at www.sony.com.au/PS3countdown, via SMS by messaging ‘how many’ (sic) to 0429 025 025 or by calling 1800 882 172.

The same website is used for customers who wish to redeem their free PS3.

As reported last week, the offer applies to all full HD Bravia LCD TVs, including the latest V- and W-Series models, which were launched in Australia last month.
