Tefal announces winners of its $100,000 consumer giveaway

By Martin Vedris

SYDNEY: To celebrate its three year gold sponsorship of the Alliance Francaise French the Film Festival with its Tefal appliance brand, Groupe SEB ran a consumer giveaway with over $100,000 in prizes, including a trip to France.

The French Film Festival is one of the largest film festivals in Australia. It has been in Australia for over 15 years and it continues a strong tradition of screening popular French films that cover genres including comedy, romance, drama, action and short documentaries.

“The French Film Festival is a very important event and there are a number of strong synergies between the Tefal brand and the festival audience,” said Groupe SEB managing director, Wivina Chaneliere.

“The festival will help to reinforce the quality and innovation of the Tefal brand across Australia and to support all of the activity we are currently undertaking. It will further extend our communication strategy and more importantly draw closers links between Tefal as a premium quality French brand.”

To promote the new partnership to retailers and consumers, Groyupe SEB ran a large Tefal promotion. Consumers who purchased a Tefal product between March 1 and May 16 could enter into the promotion, by stating what they liked about Tefal, in 25 words or less.

The major prize was a return trip to France for two with Air France, and a Tefal kitchen makeover. Other prizes include additional kitchen makeovers and electrical and cookware prizes. The total prize pool was valued over $100,000.

“It is exciting for Tefal to offer a strong promotion which links Tefal to its roots as a French brand,” said Chaneliere.

“We are also excited about our customers being involved in the sponsorship and promotion as they are very loyal to our brand. We received a very strong response with a number of creative entries. It is great to see the wide number of consumers who are passionate about the Tefal brand.”

The winner of the trip to France was Sharon Naismith of Victoria. After purchasing a Tefal product from Myer, Naismith decided to send in this creative entry that caught the judge’s eye:

Superb design, durability and style…
Makes cooking an exciting treat.
With professional quality and excellence
We Trust Tefal with everything we eat.

Naismith is naturally extremely excited about her first prize win. As an artist, it has been her lifelong dream to visit the city, starting with the Louve as the number one attraction on her must-see list.

With a love of Jamie Oliver and his cooking, Naismith purchased a Jamie Oliver frypan which gave her the winning entry.

Sharon also won $5,000 of Tefal product including cookware and electrical products.

Three other consumers also won $5,000 Tefal packages: M Chrisanthou (Vic), J Price (Tas) and N Barber (Vic).

And 240 other Tefal prizes were also won by lucky winners including Jamie Oliver by Tefal cookware sets, Tefal electrical steamers, irons and Tefal’s newest releases QuickCup and Actifry.
