Former Forty Winks GM takes on BGRA executive role

By Chris Nicholls

MELBOURNE: The Bulky Goods Retailers Association (BGRA) has appointed long time vice president Roger Wilson as assistant to the executive director, Philippa Kelly.

The former Forty Winks general manager, who worked for the company for 21 years, will handle strategy, membership and sponsorship services.

“Following his recent retirement as chief executive of Forty Winks after 21 years, Roger has a lot to contribute to the continued growth of the BGRA with his vast knowledge of the bulky goods industry. He will particularly add value in the communications area for members and sponsors,” said BGRA president, Ian Robinson.

“Opportunities to add such successful talent to the team are few, and BGRA is honoured to have more of Roger’s dedicated time,” added Kelly.

While at Forty Winks, he helped expand the Forty Winks franchise to over 90 stores in all states and territories.

BGRA members include Harvey Norman, Bunnings, Forty Winks, Snooze, Mitre 10, Beacon Lighting, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Clive Peeters, Autobarn, Super Cheap Auto, Spotlight, Fantastic Furniture, Freedom, OZ Design Furniture, Barbeques Galore, Clark Rubber, Repco, Petstock, Sleepys and Clive Anthonys.
