Glen Dimplex promises ‘bigger and better' Dimplex range

By Matthew Henry

SYDNEY: Glen Dimplex Australia has made its first public statement detailing its plans for taking distribution of the Dimplex brand from Hagemeyer, which will commence in September this year with a comprehensive cooling products launch.

Glen Dimplex Australasia CEO, Dave Wenham, today promised his company will offer a more comprehensive range of Dimplex products from 1 September, when Hagemeyer hands over control of the Dimplex brand.

“Due to the group’s international size and diversity, the product offering will be bigger and better than ever before,” said Wenham.

“The first example of this will be the introduction of a comprehensive range of cooling products for the 2008/ 09 summer season later this year. Comprising a full range of fans and portable air conditioners, the Dimplex cooling range will offer exciting solutions to both consumers and retailers.”

Wenham confirmed Dimplex will launch heating products for the 2009 winter season including fan, column, panel, electric fires as well as complete electric fireplace suites.

“Coupled with our existing range of wood, gas and electric fires our heating product offering will be unrivalled with the flagship Dimplex range forming the spearhead; it is a very exciting position for us and the brands we represent,” he said.

Glen Dimplex arrived in the Australian market in June last year and set up an Australian subsidiary in Melbourne.

Late last year, the company confirmed plans to take control of the Dimplex cooling and heating product portfolios from Hagemeyer but has taken until now to make a fuller public statement.

From September, Glen Dimplex Australia will take full responsibility for all sales, service and warranty for Dimplex heating and portable cooling branded products in the Australian market.

Glen Dimplex Australia general manager, David Woodward, said the transition will be done in partnership with retailers.

“We would like to assure retailers that the handover will be seamless with minimal disruption and confusion for retailers or consumers,” said Woodward.

“We want to reassure our retail partners that they will be provided with 100 per cent support and that they can continue selling Dimplex branded products with confidence throughout 2008 and beyond.”
