Imation appoints new hardware product manager

By Chris Nicholls

SYDNEY: Imation has announced the appointment of former TDK executive Jason Oh to a newly created role of Hardware product manager for the company’s Asia-Pacific region.

The new position will see Oh develop new product platforms for the TDK ‘Life on Record’ and Memorex brands.

He will work alongside Bree McKenzie, who has been promoted to marketing and communications manager for TDK and Memorex.

Oh’s appointment comes a few months after Imation’s acquisition of TDK in late 2007. He has 20-years’ experience in the industry, and has worked previously with companies such as Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba, prior to joining Imation.

Oh said he was excited to start, and revealed new products, including headphones and iPod devices were expected to hit shops as early as August.

According to Imation, Oh’s fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia skills will help him to develop business relationships with various Asian sales offices.

Both Jason and Bree McKenzie will continue to report to Imation Sales and Marketing general manager, Dennis O’Sullivan.
