Hitachi's Michael Doyle goes to LG

By Chris Nicholls

SYDNEY: Former Hitachi national sales manager Michael Doyle has moved to LG Electronics to become their retail general manager.

Doyle began last week, and will handle retail whitegoods and browngoods sales, but not mobile communications or commercial.

As a result of the move, Graeme Cunningham has been promoted to Sales and Marketing director.

Doyle was at Hitachi for three years before the company closed its local arm, and worked at Panasonic as channel manager for four years. He was also in state sales and national sales with Sharp.

"I'm excited to accept the challenge and to be working with the team here and the plans they have in place to grow again – that's why I've joined. LG is entering a new growth phase and that's the exciting part of it," Doyle said.

"I am working with a very well respected group of sales staff – it is nice to come into a team who has professionalism and respect in the market.

He said Hitachi had provided him with “one of the best opportunities to get into a business and grow and create something”, and put him in good stead for his new role.
