BSR opens in Sydney CBD in ongoing metropolitan expansion plan

By Martin Vedris

SYDNEY: BSR Australia Limited, the national franchisor of the reinvigorated Betta Electrical group, has announced the opening of an 850 square metre Betta Electrical store in the World Square Shopping Centre building on George Street in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

World Square Betta Electrical is the latest of the Sydney metro-based stores Betta Electrical has opened in the past four months.

BSR Australia General Manager Ian Brown said inner-city stores continued to be a major focus for the Betta Electrical brand’s future plans.

“Betta Electrical stores have traditionally been operations based in suburban areas, with a good percentage of our business based in sub-metro regions,” he said.

“The opening of this large Betta Electrical at World Square is yet another example of the reinvigoration and confidence of our retail group in its brands.

“We are already looking at sites in other inner-city metropolitan shopping centres to establish more Betta Electrical stores.”

The three-level World Square Shopping Centre occupies an entire city block and is home to more than 90 stores.

BSR Australia was formed last year to meet the buying and marketing needs of Betta Electrical and Chandlers retailers who acquired the brands after franchisor Betta Stores Limited was placed into administration.
