SYDNEY: Retravision New South Wales chief executive officer, Darrel Jones, has announced he will resign from his position on 31 July.

Jones told Current.com.au that he announced his intentions to resign from the position “some time back”, while Retravision New South Wales chairman, Paul Murphy, said he had discussed the issue over a month ago.

Current.com.au understands that Jones offered Retravision up to three months notice.

Jones joined the business almost 18 months ago after leaving Groupe Seb, where he was national sales manager.

“At this period of time, Darrel is not going anywhere in particular. We are looking at appointing him to do some consulting work for a couple of days a week,” Murphy told Current.com.au.

“Some time back I explained that I needed to move and the board asked if I would consider a contractual arrangement. At this stage I have signed nothing,” Jones said.

“It is fair to say that from a sales and marketing perspective that I have accomplished what I set out to do and that is to put the cornerstones in place and helped the business move forward.”

Murphy has confirmed he has employed a recruitment company for the chief financial officer and chief operating officer role.

“We are advertising to see what’s out there,” Murphy said.

“We have an acting CFO on board and he may choose to put his name forward.”

Murphy said that Retravision New South Wales is compiling some proposals for the future of the group which will be voted on by shareholders at its annual general meeting in September in Sydney.

The proposals and the appointment of a replacement for Jones was referred to by Murphy as a “restructure” for the group which has recently lost high profile members including Home Zone and the Valtel group to liquidation.

Commenting on the current state of the group, Murphy said: “Things are progressing slowly. We now just have to move forward with progressing the new Retravision New South Wales.”
